The Governance Support Unit looks after the governance structures of the Association. This includes the election process for councillors, the annual meeting schedules for all Committees, and the logistical arrangements for meetings, minutes and agendas of the:

National Council
Board of Directors
Executive Committee of the Board of Directors
Constitutional and Transformation Task Team
Annual general meetings and extraordinary general meetings
Management meetings.

The Governance Support unit assists SAMA Branches and Groups with constitutional matters and the election of their National Councillors. It also serves as custodian for Branch rules and constitutions, and membership lists for the Speciality and Special Interest Groups.
