DEPARMENT OF LABOUR NOTICE 354 OF 2019 GOVERNMENT GAZETTE NO 42561 OF 5 JULY 2019 NOTICE TO COMPENSATION FUND MEDICAL PROVIDERS
COMPULSORY INVOICING REQUIREMENT IN MEDICAL CLAIMS

As from 30th September 2019 new claims management system will go live according to the Compensation Fund. The implementation of the new system is to improve service delivery. As from the 1st of October 2019 the Compensation Fund will no longer accept running accounts or statement of the accounts. All medical service providers are requested to note the requirements and compliance to the unique invoice number for each medical invoice that is submitted to the facilities. The fund will rejects resubmission of medical invoices and statement of accounts as duplicate invoices.

The Compensation Fund will be implementing ICD-10 and tariff coding rules and guidelines that needs to be adhere to when submitting medical invoices. Refer to the Government Gazette for details.

COMPENSATION FUND MEDICAL SERVICE PROVIDERS REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Medical service providers treating COIDA patients in terms of section 73 & 74 of COIDA must comply with the requirements before submitting medical reports and invoices to the Compensation Fund.

NB: The Compensation Fund will withhold payments if medical invoices do not comply with minimum submission and billing requirements as published in the gazette.
